TECH GOES HOME TENNESSEE
Tech Goes Home Tennessee is a program that is designed to help the gap in digital access for licensed child care providers. Signal Centers manages the Tennessee Child Care Resource and Referral Network, which is partnering with the award-winning Tech Goes Home Chattanooga program to provide digital literacy training and coaching across the state.
Closing the Digital Access Gap for Child Care Professionals
Course Details
The 15-hour training course is funded by the Tennessee Department of Human Services and will teach early educators foundational technology skills, such as email navigation and presentation building, for the advancement of their career and support of their work. Once the course has been completed, educators will have access to additional one-on-one technology coaching. Additionally, the licensed child care agency where the educator is currently employed may be eligible to receive a technology incentive, such as a laptop or tablet, to support ongoing professional development and online certification efforts.
Various trainings will take place across the state in our eight service regions, with one Technology Coach in every region. About Tech Goes Home Chattanooga
Tech Goes Home Chattanooga is a signature digital inclusion program through The Enterprise Center, a Chattanooga-based nonprofit. Aimed at making technology accessible to all, Tech Goes Home collaborates with community partners to serve such populations as: the elderly, students and their parents, people with disabilities, Spanish speakers, people transitioning from incarceration, artists, and others. Since 2015, more than 5,500 people of all ages have graduated from the program. Additionally, the Tech Goes Home Chattanooga program offers assistance with securing low-cost home Internet service through a variety of options.
